PM Employment Generation Program Created Over 11 Lakh Jobs in 3 Years, Says Union Govt

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Giriraj Singh, in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha, said that Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) generated over 11.13 lakh jobs during the 3 years to 2017-18. 

PMEGP is a credit-based subsidy scheme that helps micro enterprises to set up businesses in rural and urban areas and create jobs through Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), District Industries Centre, and State Khadi and Village Industries Board.
