Passports of 150 Defaulters Seized Because of Our Efforts: PNB
April 24, 2018
Public sector Punjab National Bank (PNB) said that based on the complaints raised by it against 150 wilful defaulters, their passports have been seized. This is related to the center’s recent notification in which it asked the banks to obtain passport copies of all customers that have borrowed above Rs. 50 crores.
PNB issued a statement in which it said that because of its “aggressive stance towards wilful defaulters” 150 passports have been seized. It also mentioned that in the past 9 months it had filed 37 FIRs against the defaulters as well.
