Now-Forgotten Post Office “Dakias” to Play Key Role in New Payments Bank
April 24, 2018
Although the need of traditional postmen is declining quickly in today’s digital world, the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has decided to use them to support financial inclusion and educate rural areas on the modern banking services.
According to IPPB officials, the payments bank will use the postmen to offer doorstep or assisted banking services in the rural areas. They will be provided smartphones which they will use to help the people make digital transactions with. They will also assist in government-funded payment channels including BHIM and Aadhaar Pay.
