Niti Aayog Working to Introduce Cooking Subsidy

India’s think tank group NITI Aayog is looking to propose a cooking subsidy that can replace the existing LPG subsidy. This is to ensure that the people using biofuel and piped natural gas can also benefit from lowered expenses.

Rajiv Kumar, chairman of NITI Aayog said that the new subsidy will be applicable to all fuels used for cooking. Changes regarding the same are likely to be incorporated in the National Energy Policy 2030.
