New Telecom Policy May Create 4 Million Jobs, Says Aruna Sundararajan

Telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan said that the new telecom policy i.e. National Digital Communications Policy, if approved, will rationalize levies such as spectrum charges and improve the condition of the debt-ridden telecom sector. She said that it will provide broadband access to all with 5G services that will create 4 million jobs by 2022.

The policy that aims to adopt “Optimal Pricing of Spectrum” is expected to be tabled in the parliament within two weeks.
