NBFC with ₹2,000 cr Corpus to be Set up to Fund Food Processing Firms

Union Cabinet Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal said that the Government is looking to launch a new Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) with an initial funding of ₹2,000 that can finance food processing industries. This will help in taking the sector to the next level and achieve the target of doubling farmers’ income faster.

Badal was present at a CII event when she said that the Government has set up 15 mega food parks in the past 4.5 years compared to just 2 food parks under the UPA regime between 2008 and 2014.
