Modi Govt Aims to Make Banking Facilities Available Every 5 Km in Jan Dhan’s Next Step

Pushing Jan Dhan Yojana’s financial inclusion agenda further, The NDA government is looking to bolster its efforts so that the banking services can be made available to people every 5 kilometers. Department of Financial Services (DFS) Secretary Rajeev Kumar said that the government will launch a state-level financial inclusion index to monitor progress in that space. It will measure the accessibility and usage of various financial products including credit, insurance, savings, etc.
