Malware attack suspected on SBI ATM in Odisha
April 11, 2017

A forensic audit has been ordered by the State Bank of India after an ATM of SBI in Odisha spewed cash automatically. Similar 10 cases have been reported throughout the country, where ATMs behaved like this.
It is said that the hack has been successful only on machines running on old/outdated software and those that do not involve any wider network infections.
According to a senior State Bank of India official, an audit has been set up to find out if this was a malware attack or a problem/glitch of the system in place.
