Kerala Looks to Lose Rs. 510 cr as it Slashes Fuel Taxes by Rs. 1 Per Litre

Even as the central government has apparently turned a blind eye to the nationwide hue and cry over the fuel prices that have increased on a consistent basis over 2 weeks to record highs, the state government of Kerala has provided some relief to the citizens by reducing the fuel taxes that will cut the retail rates of petrol and diesel by Rs. 1 per litre.

The finance department of Kerala estimates that the tax reduction will result in a loss of around Rs. 510 crores. However, it’s a clear message to the center that refuses to sanction cuts on the excise rates for the fuels.
