Jayant Sinha: Only information and proof are the basis of raids by Income Tax and ED

Jayant Sinha, who is Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said that the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax raid nationwide is only on the basis of information and proof that they gather. This was in response to the charge that AIADMK has raised on Income Tax for searching the premises of Health Minister C Vijayabaskar. AIADMK had previously called it ‘intimidating’, by mentioning that BJP directed this raid and search programme.
Rs. 5.5 crore cash was seized by the IT department post searches in C Vijayabaskar’s premises.
