IT Companies Short of Talent in Data, Cloud Technologies

In the past few years, the demand for data scientists and engineers has increased significantly. However, there aren’t enough skilled professionals to meet this demand as IT companies are still actively looking for storage specialists, cloud engineers, software architects, etc.

As per a talent supply index (TSI) compiled by recruitment company Belong, for every 10 jobs in the data technologies, there are 2 candidates that meet the requirements.  In 2017, there were 7 for 10.

Belong said that the supply of talent has increased by a modest 19% while the demand has gone through the roof to 400%.
