International Solar Alliance Approves $9 million Annual Budget

An annual budget of $9 million has been approved by the first assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) for the years 2019 and 2020. General Director Upendra Tripathy said that the assembly has also given nod to 5 major program initiatives including installation of solar agricultural pumps, rooftop solar systems, mini-grids, etc. that will be implemented in the member countries. 

The latest initiative by ISA concerns solar storage and mobility, for which it approved Solar Technology Application and Resource Center (STAR-C) programme. It will be funded by Philips Foundation, Tata Foundation, and Schneider Foundation.
