Interest Rates on Small Savings Schemes Get a Boost of 0.4%

The central government has announced a hike on the interest rates for small savings schemes by up to 0.4% during the October-December quarter. These include popular schemes like Public Provident Fund (PPF), Senior Citizens Savings Scheme (SCSS), and National Savings Certificate (NSC). Both PPF and NSC will now fetch an interest rate of 8% from the earlier 7.6%. Similarly, investment in Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) will attract an interest rate of 7.7% from the previous 7.3%, and SCSS will earn 8.7% from the former 8.3%.
