India’s Economy to Grow Twice its Size by 2022, Says PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was recently speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of the India International Convention and Expo Centre in New Delhi said that India’s economy is poised to grow two-fold in the next 4 years to reach a value of 5 trillion USD. He said that the economy will grow at a steady rate of over 8% on account of massive employment generation in IT and retail sectors. 

Modi also highlighted the merger of Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank, and Dena Bank that will create India’s third-largest lender, and said that the government will not hesitate in making tough decisions in the interest of the country.
