Indian Architects to be Aided by Japanese Experts to Build 12 Bullet Train Stations

A senior Indian Railways official said that Japanese consultants will collaborate with Indian architects to develop 12 bullet train stations along with developing the nearby areas that will connect them to metro, bus, and other forms of transportation. The decision was taken during a recent meeting of officials from Gujarat’s Urban Development and Municipal Commissions and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority.

The 12 proposed bullet train stations along the Ahmedabad-Mumbai route are Ahmedabad, Sabarmati, Anand, Baroda, Bharuch, Surat, Bilimora, Vapi, Boisar, Virar, Thane, and Bandra Kurla Complex. The total budget for the project is ₹1100 billion although Japan will offer a loan of ₹880 billion at a 0.1% rate of interest.
