India World’s Largest Employer in Tourism Sector, Says Union Minister

Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam who was speaking at the inauguration event of the “Eco tourism circuit: Pathanamthitta-Gavi-Vagamon-Thekkady” that now links the top sightseeing places in Idukki and Pathanamthitta in Kerala said that India is the largest employer in the world in the tourism sector.
Kannanthanam said that around 8.21 crore people in India are employed in the tourism sector. He also said that the new ecotourism circuit looks to protecting the flora and fauna of Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts and setting up new facilities for the tourists.
