India to Become Fifth Largest Economy Next Year, Says Arun Jaitley

Finance minister Arun Jaitley said that if India’s economy continues to grow at the projected rate, then it can take over Britain to become the 5th largest economy in the world. However, there are challenges to be overcome including the global trade war, increasing international crude oil prices, etc.

As per a recent World Bank report, India is the 6th largest economy in the world, as of today. The US takes the first position followed by China, Japan, Germany, and Britain.
