India Saved INR 3 Trillion with Domestic Manufacturing of Mobile Phones

As per a recent report by the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), NDA government’s “Make in India” initiative helped the country save a whopping Rs. 3 trillion by drastically limiting the imports of completely-built units (CBU) and instead promoting domestically manufactured handsets in the past 4 years.

The report also stated that nearly 80% of the handsets of the total market requirements were manufactured or assembled in India, clocking at over 225 million units.
