India Looks to Become $5 Trillion Economy by 2025, Says Venkaiah Naidu

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said that India is working to become a $5 trillion economy by 2025 but it needs to focus on innovation to maintain momentum. 

Naidu was speaking at the inauguration of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Warangal when he said that it were innovations that helped to tackle the pilferage of subsidies and corruption in the country. He emphasized that the ultimate aim of science and technology should be the betterment of human lives, and that the technological institutes like NITs should start focusing on innovation.
