Huawei Punishes Employees for Using iPhone for Tweeting

Top smartphone manufacturer Huawei punished two of its employees who tweeted New Year’s greetings from the company’s official account with an iPhone. This is regarded as one of the biggest faux pas of this month as the company’s P-series smartphones compete with Apple’s iPhone.

When the employees tweeted a “Happy #2019” it was appended with a “via Twitter for iPhone”. Although the Chinese phone maker was quick to shift into damage control mode and removed the tweet immediately, several users had taken the screenshots already. It’s wasn’t long before these started doing rounds in the Internet.
