Govt. “Finding a Way Out”: Union Minister on Rising Fuel Prices

Citing the hike in the global crude oil price and US sanctions on Iran as the reasons behind the rising fuel prices in India, Union Minister Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the government is “finding a way out”.

Shukla said that the government is trying its best to control the rising fuel costs in the country. On the idea of bringing petrol and diesel under the GST umbrella, he said that it can only happen if there is a general consensus in the GST Council.
