Government to Launch an App for Drug Safety Information, Recall Notices
September 17, 2018
Indian consumers may soon get a dedicated drug information app that will help them stay up-to-date with the medication they take and to take note of the drugs recalled by the government.
Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) S Eswara Reddy said that the Medical Device Reporting (MDR) will be one of the biggest tools used by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) for post-market surveillance of medical products. Additionally, sources said that the app will allow users to report problems related to medical devices, send messages, etc.
DCGI believes the app will improve patient safety by making important health-related information easily accessible.
