According to a report by a foreign consultancy Bain & Co., the clamping down on foreign funding in the NGOs across India following the government’s initiatives have resulted in a 40% drop in the same in the past 4 years.

The report said that apart from a sharp decline in fund flows from foreign entities, the government’s crackdown has also led to the cancellation of as many as 13,000 licenses of NGOs that were found to be in violation of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) of 2010.
