FinMin Asks Government Officials to Switch to Electric Vehicles

The Finance Ministry has advised all ministries and departments that come under the union government to ditch their petrol and diesel vehicles and switch to eco-friendly electric vehicles. This decision comes at an interesting time as the national capital New Delhi is facing a massive pollution problem with air quality levels staying on “severe” since the past few days.

The Finance Ministry said that the recommendation has been issued in light of the government’s aim of having at least 30% electric vehicles in the total vehicle fleet in the country by 2030.
