Expect Single-Page GST Filing System to be Launched in 3-6 Months, Says Hasmukh Adhia

The simpler GST filing system that will have a single page for the returns shall be ready within the next 3-6 months, finance secretary Hasmukh Adhia said.
The decision to launch a single-page GST return form was taken on April 17 during a GoM meeting in an effort to make the filing of returns easier for the registered taxpayers. It was decided that instead of three different forms which are GSTR-1,2, and 3, only one form shall be required. In addition to that, buyers will have to verify the GST details on the invoices uploaded by the sellers, which will replace the system-based matching mechanism.
