Encourage BHIM App Usage, PM Narendra Modi Asks Ministries

In a bid to meet the targets for digital transactions in India before August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked all the ministries to promote the use of BHIM app.
BHIM’s share on the UPI-based payment platforms dropped to 6.3% this year from the previous year’s 9.5%, thus raising a concern regarding its acceptance by the public.
Although BHIM saw a massive growth in terms of transactions after it was launched on December 30, 2016, it started losing its market share to competitors like PhonePe, Paytm, etc. in the UPI space.
