Doubled Agriculture Budget to Help Farmers Double Incomes by 2022, Says Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently held a video-conference with farmers in over 600 districts in which he highlighted the various initiatives of the government taken for their welfare.  He said that the government is looking to offer inputs like quality fertilizers, seeds, electricity and water supply to the farmers.

Modi said that the center wants to double the income of the farmers by 2022. He said that for the same, the agriculture budget has been increased to Rs. 2.12 lakh crores during 2014-19 from Rs. 1.21 lakh crore of the previous government.
