Domestic Air Passenger Traffic Increased 16.53% This Year

As per the data provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the total domestic air traffic increased to 11.86 million this May which is a growth of 16.53% on a year-over-year basis.

Carrying 4.85 million passengers over the year alone, IndiGo took the first position followed by Jet Airways that carried nearly 1.62 million passengers during the same period.

The highest load factor was recorded by SpiceJet at 94.8%. It’s followed by IndiGo that recorded a load factor of 91%.

Load factor is the measure of capacity utilization of an airline.
