CVC Seeks Details of Frauds from Lenders to Bolster Security
April 17, 2018
Central Vigilance Commissioner K V Chowdary has asked the banks to share the details of all frauds involving more than Rs. 3 crores. He said that this information will be used for creating a preventive mechanism against the same.
Chowdary said that data regarding the major frauds is mainly with the RBI and the banks only. So, only when this is shared with the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), the watchdog can understand how these frauds are taking place and how appropriate mechanisms can be devised to deter the same.
Chowdary said that CVC has received a portion of the data so far on the basis of which they are analyzing nearly 100 cases to identify a pattern.
