Centre Sanctions ₹740 bn for 2,400 Sanitation Projects Under AMRUT Scheme

Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri said that the government has approved ₹740 billion worth of projects that aim to improve sewage and water supply in the country. 

Puri was addressing the attendees at the National Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Innovation Summit when he said that 2,400 projects have been approved under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and will be covered in the action plans for 2015-2020. He also said that the youth are actively contributing towards various initiatives under WASH and other areas.
