Cash Won’t be Loaded in ATMs After 9 PM From Next Year

As per a new directive issued by the Home Ministry, ATMs won’t be replenished with cash after 9 PM in cities and 6 PM in rural areas from next year. In the Naxal-hit areas, the deadline for the same is set at 4 PM and the private cash handling agencies are asked to collect the money from banks in the first half of the day itself and transport the same in armoured vehicles.

There are more than 8,000 privately owned cash vans operating across the country that handle over 15,000 crores worth of cash on a daily basis for the banks.
