Cash Crunch Woes: Bank Unions Threaten Strike

Chiding the union government as well as the central bank RBI for the recent cash crunch across the entire country, the All-India Banks Employees Association (AIBEA) has threated to go on a strike. It said that the problem has drawn the ire of the people against the banks’ staff.

AIBEA’s general secretary C H Venkatachalam said the cash crunch has made the people angry over the banks’ staff as they are abusing the employees even though they are not at fault. He also said that mere assurance won’t work, and the government should ensure proper supply of the currency notes immediately.
