Banks May Share Images of Assets to be Auctioned

In a bid to improve the e-auction system, the government is urging the public sector banks to show the photos of properties they want to auction along with the appropriate documents.

Financial services secretary Rajiv Kumar said that that idea is that a potential buyer living in one city is able to take a look at the property that’s up for sale in a different city. He also said due to the lack of modern techniques in e-auction platforms, buyers don’t often get enough details of the assets that are to be auctioned, and the gains are also limited.
