Automakers Praise EV Draft Policy but Have Apprehensions

The government has issued a new draft policy on electric vehicles that aims to achieve the sale of at least 25% of vehicles sold in Delhi to be electricity-based by 2023. Although it has received praise from a majority of automobile manufacturers, they are also concerned about the charging infrastructure that will be required for the viability of the vehicles. Others believe that it may fail to remove the financial roadblocks that the state transport corporations will face due to the high costs of electric buses.
