Allahabad Bank CEO Usha Ananthasubramanian Relieved of Duties

Usha Ananthasubramanian, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of public sector Allahabad Bank has been relieved of her post with immediate effect. This comes in a few days after the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a charge sheet against several top officials of Punjab National Bank(PNB) and Allahabad Bank and asked the boards of the banks to “divest” the named officials of their powers.

Although Ananthasubramanian was at the helm of Allahabad Bank until the recent action was taken, she was previously the Executive Director of PNB from 2011-13 and also the chief from 2015-17.
