Agriculture Export Policy Aimed at Doubling Shipments Gets Green Signal from Cabinet

Looking to double agriculture shipments to $60 billion by 2022, the Union Cabinet has approved an agriculture export policy this Thursday. Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu said that the policy will give a boost to agriculture exports for commodities including rice, tea, and coffee, and remove export restrictions on organic goods. He said that it will also focus on other aspects including streamlining of regulations, infrastructure modernization, research and development, and standardization of products.
