A discussion paper by RBI for long-term finance banks

A discussion paper about a new bank category i.e. wholesale and long-term finance banks meant for funding large projects was released by Reserve Bank of India this Friday. This is emerging as an effort by RBI for introducing banking sector with new kinds of lenders, hence covering a larger segment of the society. These proposed banking solutions will be responsible for funding/lending to infrastructure sector and small, medium and corporate businesses. The Reserve Bank of India has asked for comments/amendments on this paper latest by 19th of May.
