83% of e-way Bills Generated by 10 States Alone

The Goods and Services Tax Council (GSTN) said that nearly 83% of the e-way bills, in accordance with the new system, are generated by 10 states alone with Gujarat topping the list.
It said that out of the total 1.84 crore e-way bills generated during the period April 1 to April 22, around 34 lakhs e-way bills were generated by Gujarat, followed by Karnataka that generated 26 lakhs e-way bills.
The government had launched the e-way bill system for inter-state transport of goods on April 1. The same for intra-state transport of goods was launched on April 15.
