$74 mn to be Offered by ADB to Enable 24-hour Water Supply in Karnataka Towns

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has signed a $75 million loan agreement with the Government of India under which the funds will be used to provide 24-hour water supply to select Karnataka towns which are Udupi, Mangalore Puttur, and Kundapura. The loan will also be used to improve the sanitation infrastructure in Mangalore.

The Finance Ministry released a statement recently which said that the ADB loan will be used to boost the water treatment production capacity by around 16 million litres per day, building 29 overhead tanks, laying 90 km of new water transmission lines, and more.
