415 Projects in Northeast to Get Rs. 100 bn Digital Boost

The union government is looking to invest as much as Rs. 100 billion in 415 projects in Northeast India to make the region digitally empowered. Most of these investments will go towards digital payments, telecom infrastructure, cyber security, startups, electronics manufacturing, and BPOs.

The ambitious initiative is a part of the “Digital North East 2022” mission under which each state in Northeast region will receive 50 projects for a digital boost. Some of its goals include ensuring mobile connectivity in all villages, access to high-speed broadband in gram panchayats, etc.
