3% GST on Gold Hurting Exports, Says GJEPC

Chairman of Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) Pramod Agrawal said that the 3% GST on exporters for the procurement of gold is hurting the jewelry exports sector in India. He said that the sector is a USD 41 billion industry that makes for 7% of the economic growth. He also urged the government to facilitate the refund process under the GST regime for the exporters.
