18% of Total Power in 2022 to be Generated by Renewables

As per a new report by Global ratings agency Moody’s Investors Service, with India taking major steps towards healthier power generation mix that are in line with its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement, it may generate as much as 18% of total electricity with renewable sources of energy by 2022. Today, only 7.8% of the electricity is generated by these resources which are largely based on solar and wind power.
