1.25 Lakh Branches Under IPPB Already, to hit 1.5 Lakh Soon, Says Manoj Sinha
January 28, 2019
Communications Minister Manoj Sinha said that India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has around 1.25 lakhs today and soon the number of branches will cross 1.5-lakh mark.
IPPB was established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 1, 2018, to revive the dying snail mail network and to provide modern banking services to small towns and villages across India. Today, over 3 lakh postmen and grameen dak sewaks are delivering financial services to the rural populace.
IPPB customers can save up to 1 lakh in their accounts and avail various services like mobile payments, ATM cards, third-party fund transfers, etc.
