Twitter 101: Tips for Marketers

Social media marketing has exploded today as marketers and SMEs are able to promote businesses on top social media platforms to get amazing results. However, you have to approach each platform differently as there is no “one size fits all” marketing strategy.
In this blog, we take a look at some of the things to keep in mind in Twitter marketing:
Relevant Keywords
Keywords play a big role in platforms like Instagram and Twitter where the text is usually limited in the posts. So, by using discoverable and relevant keywords in your tweets, you can attract high quality leads easily.
Timing
It’s important that you publish high-quality content from your Twitter account. However, to get the best results, you should time your tweets too.
Depending on your location and target audience, there will be certain hours of the day when the users are more active than the rest of the day. If you are using a social media manager, then identifying these peak hours should be easy. At any rate, make sure that you publish the most important tweets during this period.
Right Number of Hashtags
Studies have found that by adding appropriate hashtags to your tweets can increase user engagement by as much as two times. However, make sure that you don’t use more than 2 hashtags per tweet as it has been found that using any more than that actually backfires and diminishes user engagement. (Source: bufferapp)
Images and Videos
It’s no secret that visual content is far more appealing and engaging than a text. So, make sure that you use images and videos with your tweets whenever possible. However, remember that videos are more likely to be retweeted than photos. (Source: AdWeek)
