An MBA degree can give your career a big boost, granted, you get it from a prestigious institution. If you are planning to study abroad, then your degree might be even more valuable. However, there are a number of myths about an international MBA degree that often confuse the students in India. Some of these are:
Myth #1: It’s Too Expensive
Foreign education is usually more expensive than Indian. However, it all depends on how you look at it. If you are thinking short-term, then you may feel that an international degree costs too much. However, if you look at it as a long-term investment, then it’s actually a good deal. This is because having an International degree opens doors to some of the best opportunities including a chance of getting a job in a foreign country itself.
Myth #2: Employees Don’t Value International Exposure
Most of the multinational companies understand the significance of an international MBA degree. This is because an individual who has studied abroad has international exposure in which they get to learn about different cultures. They are also more likely to have strong social skills, self-dependence capabilities, and an understanding of cross-cultural dynamics.
Myth #3: It can be Difficult to Communicate in a Foreign Language
For most people, it’s difficult to get used to a new culture. However, once again it’s all about your perspective. If your grasp on the English language is poor or if you have trouble understanding the lingo of a particular country, then studying there can help you master the language in a natural and organic manner. With a first-hand experience of a new culture, your command on the foreign language improves and makes you self-confident too.
