All You Need to Know About Google's New Shopping Search Experience
January 22, 2019
Not much time ago, tech giant Google launched a new service in India called Google Shopping which is essentially a Comparison Shopping Engine (CSE) that can help the Internet users to find various kinds of products easily.
Google Shopping, which you can access by going to the home page here, features products from various categories including mobiles, laptops, books, etc. which are fetched from multiple retailers including the top players Amazon and Flipkart. The idea is to allow the users to find a wide range of products under a particular category and compare the prices at the same place rather than visiting various ecommerce websites for the same.
Where’s it Available?
Google says that the new shopping experience is accessible via the Shopping home page, Google Lens, and the shopping tab on Google Search.

What Google Says?
Surojit Chatterjee, who is the Vice President of Product Management at Google, said that more than 40 million Indians are coming online every year and searching is an important part of their online activities. With the new shopping experience, Google just wants to make it a little easier for them to find the products they are looking for, he said.

There are many interesting features of Google Shopping that are worth mentioning.
For starters, the users can now receive price drop alerts for the popular products and search for products in both English and Hindi. The Merchant Center has also been improved so that the retailers can upload product details and get noticed without paying for the ads.
Google’s new shopping experience will certainly have a huge impact on marketing and ecommerce. If you are interested in learning the basics of digital marketing and the various tools and techniques you can use, then be sure to check out the Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing course by us.
