Received Offensive Message on WhatsApp? Now Register Complaint with DoT

In light of the increasing number of death threats and vulgar messages that WhatsApp users including famous personalities are receiving, the Department of Telecom (DoT) is now registering complaints regarding the same. An official said that the victims can raise complaints by taking a screenshot of the abusive/offensive message containing the sender’s phone number and sending the same via email to ccaddn-dot@nic.in

DoT Controller of Communication Accounts Ashish Joshi recently tweeted that the department will take up the issues with the telecom companies and involve the police so that necessary action can be taken.
