MSME Sector Generated 14.9 mn Jobs Every year in Last 4 Years: Survey

According to a survey conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on 1 lakh SMEs, the MSME sector has helped increase jobs by 13.9% during the past 4 years.
CII said that the MSMEs contribution has been around 13.5 to 14.9 million jobs per year considering that the total workforce size as per the labor bureau data is 450 million (for FY18). It also said that the highest number of jobs were generated by Telangana, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
